The Board of BGC (Australia) Pty Ltd (BGC) is pleased to announce it has entered into a binding agreement to sell its BGC Cementitious division to Cement Australia.

BGC Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Cooper said:

“The sale is a positive development for BGC Cementitious’ employees, customers and other direct stakeholders, as the buyer is a highly compatible fit for our existing operation.

“Joining BGC Cementitious with Cement Australia will strengthen the combined business to service the growing demand from Western Australia’s construction and resources industries.

“BGC Cementitious has a proud history of delivering for the specific requirements of its customers in Western Australia. This track record, combined with Cement Australia’s industry expertise, will unlock new growth opportunities and improve the flexibility of the group to better service its broad customer base.

“The sale is expected to complete during the second half of 2025. During this transition period, BGC Cementitious looks forward to continuing our relationships with customers as we become part of Cement Australia.”

As part of the transaction, the assets, people and capabilities of BGC Cementitious will transfer to Cement Australia and its shareholders, subject to the successful close of the transaction.

This sale process is part of the orderly divestment of the BGC Group, as announced in 2018.

BGC retains a significant business of circa 1,000 employees, centred around the growing residential construction industry. This business includes Midland Brick, the BGC Building Products division and the BGC Housing Group.
