This year, employees from BGC and Midland Brick will be riding for a cause, as they participate in the Ride Against Domestic Violence. We have eight representatives for the ride in total, including Daniel Cooper, Gene Berry, James Ragan, Graeme Dix, Chris Williams, Brian Adams, Stewart Hart, and Matt Venetis.
The goal of the ride is to raise funds to help victims of domestic violence and to draw the public’s attention to the gravity of Western Australia’s problem with family violence. All donations from the ride will go towards women’s refuges across the State.
The team has already undergone several 70km training rides, getting ready before the main event to be held in September where they will undergo the 300km journey from Busselton to Perth, in a united front against domestic violence.
On the 10th of September, our riders will journey from Busselton to Perth’s Parliament House, stopping in Bunbury, Mandurah, Rockingham, and Fremantle to meet with volunteers and staff from refuges that assist women and children in situations of domestic violence.
If you would like to learn more about the cause and donate to support our riders in their front against domestic violence, please visit the website www.RideAgainstDomesticViolence.com/donate.
All donations made will go to women’s refuges, to help women and children who have escaped domestic violence.
