Paying tribute to International Women’s Day, this year BGC Australia hosted a special breakfast for over 250 employees, partners and stakeholders at Crown Perth’s Ballroom on March 9.

The second ever BGC International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration to be held, this year’s event focused on the global IWD theme: #ChooseToChallenge. This theme encourages people to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate achievements.

The special event was MC’d by Hunter Communications Managing Director, Nicole Moody, with a speaker line-up featuring brilliant women who were invited by BGC Australia to share their stories.

BGC Australia CEO, Daniel Cooper opened the event, outlining the steps our business is taking as a company to ensure diversity, celebrate achievements and continue to empower employees.

Neryl Joyce author of the best-selling book, Mercenary Mum, took the stage as the keynote speaker, highlighting the frontline battle she faced as a female working in a male dominated industry.

The event concluded with a panel discussion featuring inspiring industry guest speakers, including BGC’s Group Executive General Manager of People Jane Harries, HIA Executive Director Cath Hart, NOVA Entertainment’s Commercial Director Antonell Doyle and Affinity Windows General Manager and Head of Marketing, Rachel Hartwig.

At BGC we take pride in celebrating female achievements within the construction industry. As a company, our core focus remains to create healthier, happier and stronger workplace culture for our team.

Thank you to all guests who attended and made the event such a great success. BGC Australia looks forward to bringing together the next special event in 2022!
